Set in Guadalajara’s trending Lafayette district, Casa Fayette is a 37-room, Art Deco showcase that masterfully blends early 20th-century architecture with the polished grandeur of a heavenly tower. Hoteliers Carlos Couturier and Moisés Micha, the creative minds behind Grupo HABITA, joined forces with local architectural firm Estudio5 to transform the 1940s mansion into Guadalajara’s first design-led hotel. The design is a minimalist style that pays homage to Guadalajara-born architect Luis Barragán, with colored-glass panels combined with gilded touches and plush velvet furnishings.

The design combines classical European design with the colorful aesthetics of Mexico, giving the interior a global feel that mimics the inspirations behind the neighborhood’s transition. Warm and cool color palettes, punctuated by intense hues like burgundy, salmon and artichoke, create immersive environments for effortless relaxation. Objects created by historical design masters live together with reclaimed materials — such as the green wicker chairs on the patio, which were inspired by traditional Mexican “equipales”— to create and forge a timeless visual and emotional pathway throughout Casa Fayette.

The original Art Deco structure also plays host to a retro-inspired bar, pool and terrace with impressive city views — signature trademarks of the Grupo HABITA hotels in Mexico and New York. Its spa, located on the top floor of the hotel’s tower building, offers spectacular views of the city. After a massage or steam bath, guests can visit the hotel’s outdoor pool, its rooftop screened-in room, its solarium, or enjoy a meal in Casa Fayette’s ground-floor restaurant, with its expansive terrace.

The guest rooms are the masterpiece of Casa Fayette, highlighted by cool blues and green tones. Beds are planted in the center of the room, creating fluidity in the space, while striking glass mosaic walls separate the guest rooms from their en-suite bathrooms.
