Get ready for fall with the latest in color and design trends! Each season, we predict and confirm the strongest color and interior design trends we’ll be seeing everywhere. Now, with our pumpkin spice lattes in hand, bundled in cozy sweaters and seeking out nature’s changing colors, let’s dive into four trendy themes for a cozy fall mood.
Mysteries Awakening
We seek answers outside the physical, searching for meaning through spirituality and mystical, earthly elements to gain a greater sense of the world around us. The witching hour is strong, giving us a greater appreciation of nighttime, as enchanted moments illustrate nature’s wonder under the moon and stars.
Look to lavish details such as faux fur and exaggerated silhouettes, decor highlighting dark twists on childhood fairy tales, dark tile work, backlit glows to artwork, strong sculptural forms, untamed botanical arrangements, mood stones and sensorial experiences in darker notes. The color palette is an opulent combination of dark, gothic tale jewel tones; mysterious, nature-element-inspired shades of earth, water, sky and air; as well as delicate, ethereal pastels. Add a touch of melancholy and glitter, and the Mysteries Awakening design aesthetic is complete.
Color Palette: Wine Tasting (DEFD07); Beaded Blue (DE5909); Vintage Red (DET427); Rouge (DE5116); Magical Mauve (DE6011)
Daydream Vignette
Romanticizing the everyday rituals sets up these little vignettes of a bucolic life. Taking a walk, cloud watching, enjoying the raindrops and reading a good book are all small sentiments to be enjoyed through fall. Warmth, calmness and serenity are key notes as we savor the importance of reconnections to the soul.
Design is cozy, with cherished details and uncomplicated charm. Classic patterns in blurred focus, country living apparel, handcrafted elements and paying homage to details of a process add to this quietly idyllic mood. Nostalgia permeates with a clash of time periods as if a cabinet of curiosities has come to life. The color palette is full of warmth and eclectic charm with a touch of retro sentiment. Warm neutrals pair with serene greens, along with a balance of uplifting, slightly brighter tones. Add handmade goods and statement classic decor and accessories to complete your Daydream Vignette.
Color Palette: Spice Cake (DE5251); Harbor Mist Gray (DET515); First Love (DE5053); Amethyst Show (DE5990); Gypsum Rose (DET452)
Elevated Artisan
A minimalist, softly modern counterpart to Daydream Vignette, the Elevated Artisan savors simple pleasures and visible, intentional craftsmanship, leaning toward a refined version of a farmhouse aesthetic with a touch of classic and playful mid-century modern references. The importance of authenticity is applied, and essential items are redefined with updated tailored and curved lines for this year’s twist to the aesthetic.
Handcrafted ceramics and glassware with an understated appearance add to a country sensibility. Patterns highlight plaids, checks, tonal geometrics and foliage imprints. Irregular forms, face motifs, kinetic shapes and waves highlight iconography. Cozy textiles include patterned fur, dainty knits, shirting checks and heirloom linens. And the nature-inspired palette is understated and calming. This story of stillness is a perfect setting to the Elevated Artisan trend.
Color Palette: Olive Court (DEA174); 18th Century Green (DE5460); Georgia Clay (DE5181); Sonora Shade (DE5263); Old Mill (DEA185)
Digital Euphoria
Tapping into the endless technological advancements, Digital Euphoria highlights the paradox of the physical and digital worlds—reality vs fantasy, natural vs man-made, and past vs future. Filled with escapist themes, joy and playfulness immerse one into worlds of endless possibilities. The health and wellness macro trend is key as flora therapy trends forward as scent design are becoming more ingrained in all design aesthetics.
Hyper flora, abstract butterflies, wintery tropics, sensory metallics, marbling and morphing natural elements add punch to patterns and graphics. Iconography infuses healing crystals, orbs, stars, colored glass and mushrooms. The color palette is calming, yet energetic, both hot and cold, essentially a blend of mood-altering and healing hues. Awaken your escapist sense with Digital Euphoria!
Color Palette: Rocky Mountain Red (DET442); Red Contrast (DEA106); Orange Burst (DEA113); Safe Harbor (DE5865); Hailstorm (DE5925)
