Falling for Modernism: A Preview in the Desert
11/04/2019 | Dunn Edwards |
The annual autumn sneak peek into Modernism Week, aptly titled “Fall Preview,” took place Oct. 18-20, highlighting its signature mix of design and architectural talks and tours against the backdrop of balmy Palm Springs.
Dunn-Edwards celebrated the launch of its 2020 Color of the Year — Minty Fresh with a private event held at the Grace Home Furnishings showroom. The guests — including architects, designers, media and influencers — enjoyed an eye-catching vignette created by Michael Ostrow and Roger Stoker, owners of Grace Home Furnishings, while sipping on Minty Fresh-themed cocktails.
The following day, Sara McLean, color expert and stylist for Dunn-Edwards, joined Ostrow and Katy Carrier, editor of Modern Luxury Palm Springs, for a presentation and panel discussion at the showroom. Entitled “Bold & Beautiful: Designing with Color in the Desert,” the event addressed topics ranging from the history and evolution of the use of color in Palm Springs, to contemporary takes on how to best utilize color today.
The Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale Fall Edition featured 40 designer and fine arts dealers and companies, including Dunn-Edwards. This year’s booth featured Minty Fresh and a furniture display styled and provided by the team at Grace Home Furnishings.
