Fall Color Crush: 3 Unexpected Palettes to Feast On
11/14/2018 | specs+spaces staff |
2019 Color of the Year announced. Check. Halloween. Check. Daylight saving time. Check. It’s official, fall is in full swing. And with that in mind, we’re taking a look at some autumn-inspired color palettes to help guide you this season. We’ve put together three modern palettes to inspire you this fall.
This first palette takes some cues from two of our 2019 color+design trend stories: Country Caper and City Stroll. This modern look at the fall palette represents the season’s early transitional period. Remember, just because it’s fall doesn’t mean that having fun with color has to get shoved in the back of the closet alongside your flip flops and bathing suit. This color palette goes beyond those traditional harvest reds for a modern fall look.
The second modern fall color palette’s inspiration is taken from the deep, moody brown hues of the Sojourn color story. These natural and earth-based tones provide a rich color palette that is versatile enough to remind us that being cozy can also be luxurious and sleek.
Palette number three is inspired by low morning clouds and the frosty haze they cast upon the fall landscape. Though muted, this palette is high drama. The trend of black or ink-inspired walls is the perfect accompaniment for candlelit holiday feasts this autumn. Yellow is the perfect modern pop of color to underline this dramatic statement.
When it comes to decorating for fall traditions, the colors we use can be anything but traditional. We’re excited to share with you these three modern fall color palettes.
