Dunn-Edwards Introduces DURAFLO® Premium Interior Water-Based Alkyd Paints

Dunn-Edwards is pleased to introduce the launch of new and improved DURAFLO® Premium (50) Semi-gloss and (60) Gloss paints lines. These are interior enamels formulated with advanced, waterborne-alkyd technology, ideal for use on interior walls, trim, moulding, cabinets, doors, kitchens, baths and high-traffic areas. Designed for durability and economy in high-use areas, DURAFLO® provides good hide with one-coat finishing atop most properly prepared and primed surfaces.
“When painting interior surfaces get a lot of wear, it is important to use a paint that provides maximum adhesion, is easy to apply and exhibits good hide. DURAFLO provides the ease of application commonly seen in oil-based paints — but in a water-based formula for easy clean-up,” said associate product manager Neha
Koneru. “These paints have less odor and dry faster than traditional oil-based paints.”
DURAFLO® is formulated with a unique waterborne-alkyd resin that forms a solid bond to many painted substrates, including aged alkyd surfaces. The oily nature of this resin allows it to spread easily, while penetrating deep into the substrate. The result is outstanding adhesion for a more uniform, smoother surface that lasts. Highlighted product performance features include:
- Application and characteristics of traditional oil-based paints
- Advanced, waterborne-alkyd technology
- Excellent adhesion, hide, block-resistance and reduced yellowing
- Ultra-low VOC and low odor
Like all other Dunn-Edwards products, DURAFLO® does not contain ethylene glycol (EG), which is listed as a hazardous air pollutant and toxic air contaminant and can be harmful to humans.
