Why Is Light Green Trending?
When you hear the term “light green,” you might automatically think of mint. That’s understandable considering hues in the mint family have been trending for a few years now. In fact, you’ll even find minty tones like Pale Cactus (DE5673) and Arboretum (DE5690) as part of Dunn-Edwards’ trending color palette for 2019. And while mints have definitely have had their moment, today we’re exploring more muted light green tones like July’s Color of the Month, Pistachio Ice Cream (DE5717).

How To Use Light Green In The Kitchen?
Muted light greens create a feeling of calm and balance, which makes them a great candidate for bedrooms and bathrooms. Tones in this family even make a great, neutral alternatives to white for your kitchen cabinets. For instance, just take a look at how, with green, the kitchen of Create and Cultivate’s Jaclyn Johnson is unique, yet still completely neutral.

Unexpected Ways To Design With Light Green
Whether they’ve got hints of olive or more leafy greens, we also love pairing these muted light greens with other pops of color for a fun, modern space. Take a look at how we’ve mixed and matched this color family in a living room setting using some of our favorite Dunn-Edwards paint colors.
- Our room is intended to be used with a light green as a focal color. Try these top four choices: Heritage Blue (DET550), Treetop (DE5710), Pistachio Ice Cream (DE5717), which also happens to be July’s Color of the Month, and Reeds (DE5647). These hues vary from blue-greens to more olive and mossy green- based hues. Proving once again how easy and versatile this color is to accommodate any style.
- We paired this look with Strawberry Blonde (DE5107) and Whisper (DEW340). Pink is a great complimentary color for light green and helps maintain its youthful vibe.
- For the trim, ceiling and baseboards, we chose a cream paint color to help keep the lines in the room looking clean and crisp, much like our modern design.
- If painting walls feels like too much of a commitment for you, try something less permanent. For example, you can try re-imagining old or new furniture by adding a fresh coat of paint in a light green hue.
