With Memorial Day weekend we mark the unofficial start of summer. While the Americana abounds, barbecue get-togethers summon the aromas, foods, and feelings of the particularly carefree season. Whether it's cotton candy, salt water taffy, or the pink sands of Hawaii, the color pink is often representative of some of the most iconic elements of summer. So with the color pink in mind, and its naturally laid back vibes, it doesn’t matter if you’re planning a summer getaway, a pool party, or just love watching the summer sunset, we’ve put together 4 Pink Palettes for your Summer.
Few things beat a summer getaway, and the top getaway for pink bliss is the iconic Royal Hawaiian hotel in Honolulu, which is a pure dose of pink perfection. After all, the hotel is dubbed "The Pink Palace of the Pacific." A palette inspired by this setting means soft and muted pinks. In fact, we’ve seen muted and soft pinks trending lately like on one of the Raskinds latest projects. And frankly, it’s easy to see why. These airy pink tones add the perfect dose of serenity and sophistication to any space. This first pink-forward palette provides that same tranquility and adds some additional watery tones for good measure.
Pool party, anyone? Our second palette is inspired by those playful days at the pool. An essential summer pastime, pool parties rock pinks from beach balls to flamingo floats and poolside drinks. The pinks at pool parties are often vibrant, punchy and fun. These pinks pair well with both primary colors, as well as tropical-inspired hues.
County fairs and summer festivals are a staple of summer. Our third summer palette boasts cotton candy hues as well as some other complementary pastel tones like green and orange. The future is fuchsia but the past is pastel, and with both a delicate, powder pink and a muted rosy pink, this retro dose of summer is a reminder of youth’s carefree days of summer break.
Summer sunsets can pack quite a colorful punch. This pink-forward palette featuring sunset hues is comprised of orange-toned pinks and tinged with purple. Shadowy tones of deep blue and purple round out this palette.
