Dunn-Edwards Introduces New Ultrashield® Premium Galvanized Metal Primer
LOS ANGELES (January 5, 2016) – As part of its ongoing commitment to develop high performance products that are safe for people and the environment, Dunn-Edwards Paints has introduced [PRODUCT#ULGM00], a high performance, low VOC, low-odor, interior and exterior primer. It can be used on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and is ideal for new and repaint residential, commercial and multi-tenant housing projects, as well as maintenance application. New [PRODUCT#ULGM00] has excellent adhesion on properly prepared ferrous and non-ferrous substrates and excellent application properties.
“When painting galvanized metal surfaces and non-ferrous metals, it is important for painting contractors to have a primer that provides maximum adhesion, is easy to apply and exhibits good hide. This new primer provides superior performance properties that are important to the painting professional,” explained product manager, Sam Carrillo. “It also exhibits excellent adhesion on other difficult-to-paint surfaces such as copper, aluminum and brass.”
Like all Dunn-Edwards paints, [PRODUCT#ULGM00] does not contain ethylene glycol (EG). Dunn-Edwards removed EG from its paint formulas in 1984, and remains the only major manufacturer to have done so. EG, which is listed as a hazardous air pollutant and toxic air contaminant, can be harmful to humans.
