I earned my bachelor’s in chemistry and my master’s in polymers and coatings at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I interviewed with several companies but — after graduating — decided to start my career with Dunn-Edwards.
Dunn-Edwards has a great sense of community, which is rare in a workplace. When I learned I was encouraged to grow professionally, I knew this was the company for me. My managers understand my desire to develop as a professional and — in the three years I’ve been here — I have grown in my ability to multi-task, predict timelines, problem solve, mentor and present results to all departments.
As a chemist, I have to multitask. My days usually include evaluating batches, discussing project progress with my manager, as well as meeting with vendors and co-workers to see what new raw materials we can research. It’s a very relaxing, encouraging and trusting atmosphere.
