June is one of the busiest moving months. The month of June means school is out and the travel season is officially in full swing, making it the ideal time for most individuals—and particularly families —to pack up and move house. With that in mind, we’re taking a look at some of the paint colors that help make the most of a home sale. So if you’re planning a move and an accompanying home sale this month (or later this summer), here are a few key colors to get your home ready for sale.

In the Kitchen
When it comes to the best kitchen paint color for home sales, home search platform Zillow found that white is the most attractive to buyers. Need a little help narrowing in on the ideal white paint color? Opt for these white paint colors that LA interior designer Chris Barrett swears by.

Or try the white that designer Shalena Smith used when renovating her own kitchen. According to the Zillow study, white paint in the kitchen increases the likelihood of a potential buyer purchasing the home.
While white may reign supreme in the kitchen, Homes & Gardens says don’t discount light green paint colors in the kitchen. Muted greens have the ability to make a kitchen stand out while still maintaining an important level of neutrality. Take a look at our Dunn-Edwards top selling green paint colors for an idea of how they might transform your kitchen in time for a home sale. Pale or muted greens are soothing and comforting, making them an appealing shade, which is why you’ll also find hues such as these in our 2024 Color + Design Trend Report. Look to 2024 color stories A New Dawn and Time of Comfort in particular for muted green inspiration.
In the Living Room
At Dunn-Edwards we recently unveiled our New Neutrals Color Collection, inspired by customer requests for more go-to neutrals, and it couldn’t be a better time for these most popular gray and brown paint colors. It seems many people are clamoring for neutrals like grays and browns, according to Better Homes & Gardens, particularly in warm tones, as they can make a living room feel comfy and cozy to prospective buyers by projecting a comfortcore aesthetic. In fact, according to home improvement resource Fixr’s 2023 report, 82% of experts agree that warm neutral paint colors are the top interior color choice when it comes to selling a home. Thinking about the TikTok craze the color beige has become, perhaps it's no surprise that warm neutrals are striking a chord with homebuyers. For The Front Door
There’s no better time to liven up a front door than before a home sale. The front door presents a first impression of the home to would-be buyers. That means a front door is the first chance to get buyers clamoring for the opportunity to call your house their new home - and certain colors aid in that than others. House Beautiful notes that homes with a black door can sell for more than homes with other color front doors.
Dark Engine (DE6350), for example, is a deep, chic black with a touch of violet and blue. This black paint color is part of our Dunn-Edwards Front Door Limited Edition Color Collection, an assemblage of 80 colors, including 62 brand-new hues. Our Front Door Limited Edition Color Collection can help you find the right color to prep your front door —and your home—for sale.
