Valentino models draped in head to toe fuchsia sauntered down the runway at Le Carreau du Temple, a Parisian market that was also bathed entirely in a fuchsia light. Earlier this month the Valentino fashion show at Paris Fashion Week 2022 was awash in monochromatic….well, fuchsia. The future is fuchsia. The vivid purplish-pink color is a hard color to miss, almost neon in its brightness. It’s bold, head-turning, and today, seems to be everywhere. At their March event, tech giant Apple announced their latest iPad, the iPad 5 Air. This new generation of iPad will be offered in a new slate of electrifying colors, including pink and purple. While fuchsia is leading the way in the latest fashion and technology, the question remains, are we seeing this purplish-pink hue in the home?

It’s true that pinks have existed in the mainstream of interior design over the past decade, however, most frequently in the soft and ethereal blush, beige or peachy hues of Millennial Pink. The emergence of fuchsia marks a distinct shift in preferred pink palettes. And perhaps, this shift is no surprise coming out of two years of pandemic life as the world is once again looking to embrace the bold, embrace fun, and embrace color. Fuchsia In Interior Design

The answer is yes, fuchsia is taking hold in the world of interiors. Fuchsia is a color that designer Dani Nagel, who is also creator and owner of Dazey LA, is betting on to woo people indoors and create insta-worthy moments at Vibrancy Lab Studio, a downtown Los Angeles photo studio. Nagel used Dunn-Edwards Crushed Berries (DE5026) as one of the centerpieces of her color palette for the space.

Similarly, AD100 designer Beata Heuman took a bold approach in the redesign of her client’s London home. She took the home’s dark brown floors and painted them fuchsia to achieve a more fanciful aesthetic. Fuchsia is being utilized in all aspects of interior design, even lighting. In fact, in the London home of Paralympic champion Ade Adepitan, fuchsia-underlit cabinetry lights up the kitchen in a playful and unexpected, modern way.
